RHCA Statement of Faith

  1. The Bible is the infallible Word of God given to man through the inspiration of His Holy Spirit; as such it is our highest source of truth and our final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16 – 17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
  2. By faith, we believe in the Holy Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit- as supported by Scripture. (Matthew 28:18-19, Matthew 3:16-17)
    1. We believe in God the Father, first person of the Trinity, Creator of all things in Heaven and on earth, seen and unseen. He is eternal, omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. (Genesis1: 1; Acts 17:24; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:3).
    2. We believe in Jesus Christ, second person of the Trinity, son of the one true God, the only source of salvation as the propitiation for sinful man. We believe in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ as outlined in the following:
      1. He was born of the Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:23 Luke 1:31).
      2. He is wholly man and wholly God (John 1:1; 1 John 2:22-23; 3:16).
      3. He was crucified for our sins, buried and rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven and He sits at the right hand of the Father as judge, advocate and high priest. (1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 2:2; Luke 24:34; Mark 16:19; Romans 8:34).
      4. He will come again to judge the living and the dead and establish the eternal kingdom of God (John 5:24-25).
    3. We believe in the Holy Spirit, third person of the Trinity, the divine Paraclete, source of all godly inspiration and sustainer of our faith and spiritual maturity (Romans 8:26-27).
  3. We believe in the communion of believers in Christ and in a corporal resurrection of the saved in Christ and the unsaved, the former to eternal life and the latter to eternal damnation (John 5:28-29).
Our Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality consists of the following points:
  1. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen. 1:26-27) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
  2. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen. 2:18-25) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
  3. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10)
  4. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Restoring Hope Christian Academy as a local Christian school, and to provide a biblical role model to RHCA members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by RHCA in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by the Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5: 16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess. 5:22)
  5. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6:9-11)
  6. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of Restoring Hope Christian Academy.
  7. We believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith, apart from works by the merit of the shed blood of Christ and that the born-again believer is eternally secure in Christ. (Acts 13:38-39; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 3:25; Hebrews 9:14)
  8. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 16:8; Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 12:13; Ephesians 1:13; I John 2:27)
  9. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those who are saved to eternal unity with God and those who are lost to eternal separation from God. (John 14:1-6; Philippians 3:20; Revelation 21:1-4; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 22:11)
  10. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 12:12-13; Hebrews 12:23)
